The Savvy Caddy line of wallets resulted from a problem faced by the inventor, Alan Beckley.
Like many men, Mr. Beckley needed to carry a large number of cards in his wallet. He searched for a slim wallet that could provide easy access and visibility to a large number of cards, but would not be too bulky or uncomfortable to carry in the back pocket.
Whether he purchased bi-fold or tri-fold wallets, the result was always the same: bulky, uncomfortable wallets with cards stacked in hidden pouches or pockets. He grew tired of removing his wallet from his back pocket when driving and having piles of cards spill out every time he attempted to retrieve just one.
In 2002, he gave up the search and decided to invent the solution. He realized that bi-folds and tri-folds suffered a common flaw: when closed all of the cards were piled into a single thick stack or "deck" of cards.
He designed a wallet that "cut" the deck by holding cards in two stacks instead of one. Like a photo album, the Savvy Caddy wallet holds cards vertically in clear pockets. All of the cards are visible and can be easily accessed. Leather "security" flaps cover the cards so that no one but the owner sees them until they are accessed. The Savvy Caddy wallet is slender: half as thick as most other wallets; yet holds twice as many cards and is comfortable to carry in the back pocket.
No other wallet on the market provides the same unique combination of features:
- high card-capacity
- high visibility
- easy access
- slim-profile
